Admissions
How enrolment, payment, study and certification work at The Makeup Masterclass.
How enrolment works
The same four steps apply to every programme.
Choose your programme
Read the programme page, compare packages and check the entry requirements. The programme quiz can help.
Enrol and pay
Pay securely online. Where enrolment has not yet opened, join the enrolment list and we will email your link.
Study and submit
Log in, work through the lessons in order and, on assessed programmes, upload your practical work for marking.
Receive your award
Pass every assessment and receive your diploma or certificate by email, ready to share with clients.
Fees and payment
Fees are listed on each programme page in South African rand and include VAT where applicable. Payment is taken by secure online checkout. We never ask for card details by email, WhatsApp or phone.
Instalment options will be offered for the diploma and specialist certificates when enrolment opens. Students on the enrolment list receive the options first.
See our refunds and cancellations policy before you enrol.

Frequently asked questions
Who teaches the courses?
Every programme is designed and taught by Brandon Walt, founder of The Makeup Masterclass, with a decade of professional experience across bridal, editorial, film, television and red carpet.
Are the courses online?
Yes. All current programmes are studied online at your own pace. Some packages include live Zoom sessions and the Deluxe diploma package includes a practical day at the studio in Pretoria.
Do I receive a certificate?
Assessed programmes lead to a diploma or certificate from The Makeup Masterclass once you pass every assessment. Personal courses include a certificate of completion. Our awards are academy certificates, not government (SAQA/NQF) qualifications.
How do I pay?
Payment is made securely online at checkout. The Editorial Glam Masterclass is available now. For other programmes, join the enrolment list and we will send payment and instalment options when enrolment opens.
I have never done makeup before. Where do I start?
If you want to work professionally, start with the Professional Makeup Artist Diploma; it begins from the basics. If you want to do your own makeup, start with Everyday Makeup for Yourself. Not sure? Take the programme quiz.
How long do I have access?
Access depends on the programme and is listed on each programme page: lifetime access for personal courses and the masterclass, and 12 to 24 months for assessed certificates and the diploma.
Can I study from outside South Africa?
Yes. You can study from anywhere with an internet connection. Fees are charged in South African rand.
What equipment do I need?
A smartphone or laptop to watch lessons, a camera or phone to record assessed work, and a basic kit. Each programme page lists a recommended kit, available through our shop.
