Terms and conditions
Last updated 12 October 2026.
These terms apply to your use of this website and to any course, programme or masterclass you buy from The Makeup Masterclass (Pty) Ltd ("we", "us"). By enrolling or buying, you accept these terms.
1. Who we are
The Makeup Masterclass (Pty) Ltd is a private company registered in South Africa, based in Pretoria. You can contact us at info@themakeupmasterclass.com or on WhatsApp at +27 81 314 9769.
2. Courses and access
When you buy a course you receive a personal, non-transferable licence to access its content for the access period stated on the programme page. You may not share your login, or copy, record, resell or distribute any course material.
3. Fees and payment
Fees are shown in South African rand and include VAT where applicable. Payment is processed by our third-party payment providers. A place on a programme is confirmed only once payment (or the first instalment) has been received.
4. Instalments
Where we offer an instalment plan, its schedule is shown at checkout. If an instalment is missed, we may pause your access until the account is brought up to date.
5. Assessment and certificates
Diplomas and certificates are awarded only when all required assessments have been passed to the academy standard. Our awards certify completion of our programmes and are not qualifications registered on the National Qualifications Framework. We may decline to issue an award where work is not your own.
6. Live sessions and studio days
Dates for live sessions, mentorship and studio days are scheduled with you. If you miss a booked session without 48 hours' notice, we may not be able to reschedule it.
7. Booking a makeup artist
When you book an artist through this website, your contract is with The Makeup Masterclass (Pty) Ltd. We assign a vetted artist from our network and remain responsible for your booking. Payment is due in full when you book. EFT bookings are held for a limited time (shown when you book) and are released automatically if proof of payment is not received in time. Your booking is confirmed once payment reflects in our account. We may assign a different artist from the one you requested if they are unavailable. Prices are shown before you pay and include everything listed in your booking summary.
7a. Health and safety
Makeup involves products applied to skin and eyes. Always patch test, follow hygiene guidance taught in the course and do not work on anyone with an infection or reaction. We are not liable for reactions to products you use.
8. Affiliate links
Our shop links to third-party retailers. Purchases there are contracts between you and that retailer. See our affiliate disclosure.
9. Intellectual property
All course content, videos, workbooks, images and branding belong to The Makeup Masterclass (Pty) Ltd or its licensors.
10. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim relating to a course is limited to the fee you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.
11. Changes
We may update course content to keep it current, and may update these terms. The version published on this page applies.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
